Doctrine and Covenants  90:3-5
Verily I say unto you, the keys of this kingdom shall never be taken from you, while thou art in the world, neither in the world to come;
Nevertheless, through you shall the oracles1 be given to another, yea, even unto the church.
And all they who receive the oracles1 of God, let them beware how they hold them lest they are accounted as a light thing, and are brought under condemnation thereby, and stumble and fall2 when the storms7 descend, and the winds7 blow, and the rains7 descend, and beat upon their house.
2nd Book of Commandments  183:3-9
And for this reason there must be a total repentance or I will remove the scepter from your hands and give it unto the hands of others.
And I will remove the oracle1 from your possession, and it shall be taken from among you6, and where then shall be your guidance5?
For there are those among you who have flagrantly disregarded My word and have twisted and turned the sacred words that have been entrusted to them, and have turned these words to their own advantage.
And they have placed this work in grave jeopardy.
And they say, "I have strictly followed the Lord's instructions." Behold, they are liars, for they have heeded their lusts8 and selfish desires8.
And thus they suppose they are in great favor with their LORD.
Behold I say unto you, I will shortly spew them out of My mouth, for they are but vomit3, and are a great stench unto My nostrils.
2nd Book of Commandments  239:1-2
And I say unto you My son that ye are no longer required to counsel6 My servants and maidservants, for they have chosen My servant David;
And from this time forth they shall seek to him for their guidance5.
2nd Book of Commandments  240:7
For has it not been fulfilled what I have before told you that if these people heed not My will ye shall be taken from among them6?
2nd Book of Commandments  9:8
Beware lest ye stumble and fall2 and others take your place, for ye are nigh ready for destruction8, for ye seek My voice in the high places and thy words come back to thee as brass.
2nd Book of Commandments  60:12
12 And also unto the residue of My people who have stepped forth, I am pleased with your efforts to do My will, but ye are weak and do stumble2 because of your ignorance.
2nd Book of Commandments  78:8
And it is My will that all heed these words, yet few do, and even yet these stumble2 because of their weaknesses.
2nd Book of Commandments  40:14
14 For there is none other at this time who has been appointed to receive Mine oracles1; but there shall come a time when all who shall call upon My name shall hear My voice and receive guidance5 from Me.
2nd Book of Commandments  77:6
Yet what I have said, I have said, and all who disregard My word through My Servant will lose the guidance5 of My Spirit and be turned over to the buffetings of the adversary until he repents.
Book of Mormon 2 Nephi 27:1-5
But, behold, in the last days, or in the days of the Gentiles--yea, behold all the nations of the Gentiles and also the Jews, both those who shall come upon this land and those who shall be upon other lands, yea, even upon all the lands of the earth, behold, they will be drunken4 with iniquity and all manner of abominations--
And when that day shall come they shall be visited of the Lord of Hosts, with thunder7 and with earthquake7, and with a great noise, and with storm7, and with tempest7, and with the flame of devouring fire7.
And all the nations that fight against Zion, and that distress her, shall be as a dream of a night vision; yea, it shall be unto them, even as unto a hungry man which dreameth, and behold he eateth but he awaketh and his soul is empty; or like unto a thirsty man which dreameth, and behold he drinketh but he awaketh and behold he is faint, and his soul hath appetite; yea, even so shall the multitude of all the nations be that fight against Mount Zion.
For behold, all ye that doeth iniquity, stay yourselves and wonder, for ye shall cry out, and cry; yea, ye shall be drunken4 but not with wine4, ye shall stagger2 but not with strong drink4.
For behold, the Lord hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep. For behold, ye have closed your eyes, and ye have rejected the prophets6; and your rulers, and the seers hath he covered because of your iniquity.
Old Testament (KJV) Isaiah 28:5-8
In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people,
And for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate.
But they also have erred through wine4, and through strong drink4 are out of the way; the priest and the prophet9 have erred through strong drink4, they are swallowed up of wine4, they are out of the way through strong drink4; they err in vision, they stumble2 in judgment.
For all tables are full of vomit3 and filthiness, so that there is no place clean.
2nd Book of Commandments  14:3-4
Yea, and there are many things that thou desireth to know which ye shall surely obtain knowledge of if thou art diligent, but because of weaknesses I am constrained, and I cannot reveal these things unto you at this time lest thou fall2 and be overcome.
Prove thyself in all things and be not despondent, for I am with thee and surely watching over thee that thou be not destroyed8 before thou hast accomplished the things I command and will require of thee6 if thou art diligent.
2nd Book of Commandments  34:1-4
Behold I say unto you My son, I have called My children and they heed Me not, each man going his own way8, each to his own field, thinking they know more than their LORD.
There is none, no not one, who doeth as I have commanded, yet they continually call upon Me for more revelation.
Behold, I will give unto them revelation upon revelation to their cursing5.
They neither know nor understand nor desire to do My will.
Old Testament (KJV) Ezekiel 14:1-11
Then came certain of the elders of Israel unto me, and sat before me.
And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart8, and put the stumblingblock2 of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them?
Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart8, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity2 before his face, and cometh to the prophet9; I the LORD will answer him that cometh according to the multitude of his idols5;
That I may take the house of Israel in their own heart, because they are all estranged from me through their idols.
Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.
For every one of the house of Israel, or of the stranger that sojourneth in Israel, which separateth himself from me8, and setteth up his idols in his heart8, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity2 before his face, and cometh to a prophet9 to enquire of him concerning me; I the LORD will answer him by myself:
And I will set my face against that man, and will make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people6; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
And if the prophet9 be deceived8 when he hath spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived8 that prophet9, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy8 him from the midst of my people6 Israel.
10 And they shall bear the punishment8 of their iniquity: the punishment8 of the prophet9 shall be even as the punishment8 of him that seeketh unto him;
11 That the house of Israel may go no more astray from me, neither be polluted any more with all their transgressions; but that they may be my people, and I may be their God, saith the Lord GOD.

For behold, the Lord hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep. For behold, ye have closed your eyes, and ye have rejected the prophets6; and your rulers, and the seers hath he covered because of your iniquity.
Book of Mormon 2 Nephi 26:20-22
20 And the Gentiles are lifted up in the pride of their eyes, and have stumbled2, because of the greatness of their stumbling block2, that they have built up many churches; nevertheless, they put down the power and miracles of God, and preach up unto themselves their own wisdom and their own learning8, that they may get gain and grind upon the face of the poor.
21 And there are many churches built up which cause envyings, and strifes, and malice.
22 And there are also secret combinations, even as in times of old, according to the combinations of the devil, for he is the founder of all these things; yea, the founder of murder, and works of darkness; yea, and he leadeth them by the neck with a flaxen cord, until he bindeth them with his strong cords forever.
Doctrine and Covenants  29:16-21
16 And there shall be a great hailstorm7 sent forth to destroy8 the crops of the earth.
17 And it shall come to pass, because of the wickedness of the world, that I will take vengeance upon the wicked, for they will not repent; for the cup of mine indignation is full; for behold, my blood shall not cleanse them if they hear me not.
18 Wherefore, I the Lord God will send forth flies upon the face of the earth, which shall take hold of the inhabitants thereof, and shall eat their flesh, and shall cause maggots to come in upon them;
19 And their tongues shall be stayed that they shall not utter against me; and their flesh shall fall2 from off their bones, and their eyes from their sockets;
20 And it shall come to pass that the beasts of the forest and the fowls of the air shall devour them up.
21 And the great and abominable church, which is the whore of all the earth, shall be cast down by devouring fire7, according as it is spoken by the mouth of Ezekiel the prophet9, who spoke of these things, which have not come to pass but surely must, as I live, for abominations shall not reign.
